How it works
A rent reduced by housing benefit
In Nevers, as everywhere in France, students can receive a housing benefit paid by the CAF. There are two benefits: APL (aide personnalisée au logement) and ALS (allocation de logement sociale). You can only receive one of them at a time.
Our studios are approved (conventionné) housing: they open entitlement to APL or ALS. In practice, the benefit reduces your actual rent each month, according to your situation.
The amount is not set in advance: only the official simulation on caf.fr gives you a reliable estimate.

The main conditions
Approved housing
Our studios are approved (conventionné), which opens entitlement to APL. This key condition is already met in the residence.
A lease in your name
The benefit is claimed once your lease is signed. You are the named tenant of the studio you occupy.
Your main home
The studio must be your main home during your studies in Nevers. Move-in is possible all year round.
Based on your situation
Entitlement and amount depend on your income and rent. The caf.fr simulation takes them into account automatically.

Submit your claim to the CAF
Create or complete your file online on caf.fr with your housing details. The CAF then assesses your entitlement to APL or ALS.
